CCI Statement on the new Alberta Cabinet

In Edmonton, Premier Danielle Smith introduced her reformed cabinet after several ministers lost their positions in the May 29 general election. Reacting to this, CCI President Benjamin Bergen, representing 150 of Canada's top scale-up tech firms, commended the Premier's prompt action. He highlighted the UCP government's consistent support for the tech sector and emphasized its growth potential. Bergen expressed satisfaction with Nate Glubish's continued role as Minister for Technology and Innovation, valuing his past contributions. He also anticipates collaboration with the new Minister of Jobs, Economy, and Trade, Matt Jones, especially concerning the title "software engineer." Bergen concluded by urging the new cabinet to actively support Alberta's tech innovators.
