CCI Expands Communications Services to Members with New Communications Coordinator
December 2, 2024
The Council of Canadian Innovators (CCI) is expanding its communications capacity to better support Canada’s fastest-growing scale-up companies. As the country’s business council for the 21st century, CCI provides a comprehensive range of services, including policy advocacy, CEO-to-CEO networking, educational programming, and strategic communications support to amplify the voices of homegrown Canadian technology companies.
To meet the growing demand for member communications services, CCI is excited to welcome Michel LeClair to the team as Communications Coordinator. Michel’s role will focus on enhancing public messaging, creating new profile-building opportunities for members, and helping CCI deliver expanded services like video production, social media strategy, and content development.
“With a potential federal election in 2025 and a complex economic policy environment unfolding, it’s more important than ever for Canadians to hear directly from the CEOs leading Canada’s most innovative companies,” said CCI President Benjamin Bergen. “These leaders are driving growth in artificial intelligence, health tech, cybersecurity, and beyond. With Michel joining the team, we’re increasing our capacity to ensure their voices are heard.”
Since we were founded in 2015, CCI has worked to celebrate the success of Canadian tech scale-ups and advocate for policies that foster their growth. As CCI’s membership has grown to more than 150 incredible companies from all across Canada, our team has also grown to expand and deepen our work on their behalf.
Michel joined CCI earlier this year as a co-op student through the Humber College Public Relations graduate certificate program, after studying geography at Wilfred Laurier University. He has already made himself an integral part of the CCI team, working on social media strategy, content creation, video production and media relations.
“At CCI, we believe that our members’ stories are the most compelling proof of the economic policies we champion. Canada has so many incredible technology companies that are leaders in artificial intelligence, robotics, cybersecurity, health tech, financial technology and many more sectors,” said James McLeod, CCI Director of Communications. “With Michel’s support, we’re excited to build on our success by delivering even more impactful communications services that celebrate our members and showcase their impact on Canada’s economy.”
“I’m thrilled to join CCI at such an important time for Canadian innovators,” said Michel LeClair, CCI Communications Coordinator. “CCI’s perspective on innovation policy and economic growth is important for Canada right now, and I look forward to amplifying the stories of the technology companies driving Canada’s prosperity.
As CCI continues to grow, the organization remains committed to providing its members with the tools and opportunities they need to tell their stories in an increasingly fragmented, digital, and competitive media environment. From thought leadership through our 5 Questions interview series to partnered content creation, CCI is proud to support the leaders of Canada’s innovation economy in shaping the future.
ABOUT THE COUNCIL
Founded in 2015 by Canada’s most successful technology CEOs, CCI aims to amplify their voices in the public policy development process around innovation, countering the dominance of foreign multinationals and other entities not focused on Canadian economic growth. CCI’s CEOs lead Canadian-based innovation firms in sectors such as Healthtech, Cleantech, Fintech, Cyber, and ICT, driving commercialization of intellectual property, generating jobs and wealth, making investments, and engaging in philanthropy. We advocate on their behalf for government strategies that increase their access to skilled talent, strategic capital, and new customers, as well as expanded freedom to operate for their global pursuits of scale.
