CCI celebrates second cohort of iGP graduates
10 mars 2022
Today in the print edition of The Globe and Mail, CCI recognized the learner’s part of the second cohort of the Innovation Governance Program (iGP).
In response to Canada’s growing need for qualified directors and greater diversity on scale-up company boards, the Council of Canadian Innovators (CCI) launched iGP in Fall 2021. This executive leadership program is designed to train current and future board members in critical areas of the intangible economy, including intellectual property (IP) and data governance, cybersecurity, finance, risk, and compliance.
As Canada’s 21st-century business council, CCI has brought together leading organizations to deliver online training seminars tailored for business leaders in today’s fast-evolving innovation landscape.
The iGP curriculum, informed by leaders from Canada’s fastest-growing companies, is delivered by subject matter experts in corporate governance, IP and data governance, cybersecurity, finance and compliance, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), talent development, and media. Graduates of iGP gain access to CCI’s Board Member Advisory Program (BMAP), which actively promotes them as qualified candidates for board roles in Canada’s high-growth technology sector.
Upon completing the six-week program, iGP participants will be equipped to identify, assess, and navigate modern governance challenges facing today’s innovation-driven companies. Graduates are also added to the BMAP roster, a specialized referral program that helps match scale-up companies with qualified directors to fill board vacancies.
iGP sessions are offered three times annually: Winter (February-March), Spring (May-June), and Fall (October-November).
The Winter 2022 session of iGP was made possible through the generous support of the following partners:
• BDC
• CPA Ontario
• Cycura
• Deloitte
• EDC
• Innovation Asset Collective
• Sustainable Development Technology Canada
• The TMX Group
