During his tenure as both President and Chief Revenue Officer at FreshBooks over the past decade, Mark played an instrumental role in steering the company's trajectory and played a pivotal role in securing substantial financial backing for FreshBooks. Freshbooks successfully raised $190 million in equity and an additional $120 million in debt. His responsibilities spanned the delivery of revenue, shaping the product roadmap, and operational enablement ensuring an unparalleled customer experience across 160 different countries. Mark's leadership was instrumental in propelling FreshBooks to unprecedented heights, witnessing a remarkable growth in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) from $15 million to an impressive $150 million. Under his guidance, the customer base burgeoned fivefold to reach 250,000 small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), while the employee count surged from 100 to over 800.Mark's initiatives extended beyond traditional metrics of success. He spearheaded the development of three new lines of business—payments, bookkeeping, and payroll—that collectively contribute 50% of the yearly ARR. Notably, these ventures showcased year-over-year growth rates three times that of the core subscription business, underscoring Mark's ability to diversify and propel sustained financial growth.

Before joining FreshBooks, he played a pivotal role at Varicent Software, a sales performance management (SPM) innovator acquired by IBM in 2012. There, he joined during a critical funding stage and spearheaded the company's growth from $3 million to $50 million in annual revenue. Mark's expertise extends beyond the startup phase. As Head of the SPM business unit post-acquisition, he scaled the operations within IBM to achieve an ARR exceeding $100 million. Before Varicent he held several senior sales and strategy positions at Platform Computing the global leader in High Performance Computing (HPC).Mark underpins his strong executional experience with a solid academic foundation holding an Economics degree from Queen's University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The Ivey School of Business.
