Gennady Pekhimenko

Gennady Pekhimenko is a distinguished computer systems and architecture expert, with a career spanning work with some of the most prominent names in technology, including Microsoft, Amazon, NVIDIA, Google, Intel, and IBM. His journey has been driven by a focus on addressing the real-world challenges businesses face when running AI workloads.

During his tenure at Microsoft, Gennady identified critical inefficiencies in the utilization of GPUs for various workloads, often uncovering significant untapped potential. This discovery inspired him to return to academia, where, at the University of Toronto, he assembled a team of talented researchers to tackle these challenges. Their work on optimizing ML accelerator usage laid the groundwork for CentML, the company Gennady later co-founded.
