Learning to Lead: How Toronto-Based Disco is Powering CCI’s Innovation Governance Program

March 19, 2025

As Canada’s innovation economy grows, so does the demand for forward-thinking board leaders. To meet this need, we at the Council of Canadian Innovators (CCI) created the Innovation Governance Program (iGP), training over 1,000 graduates in scaling, intellectual property strategy, data governance, and corporate compliance.

To take iGP’s impact to the next level, we turned to our Toronto-based member Disco—the AI-first learning platform designed to make knowledge come alive. Unlike traditional platforms that lock content in static courses, Disco blends AI, community, and intuitive design to create an engaging, dynamic, and connected learning environment.

With Disco, iGP participants don’t just absorb information—they actively engage with it. Through collaborative discussions, peer-driven Accountability Groups, and real-time expert interactions, every lesson becomes an opportunity for connection and deeper learning. AI-powered automation streamlines operations, making it easier than ever for CCI to scale the program’s reach and impact.

For Gabriella Boulos, CCI’s Director of Programming and Events, the partnership with Disco has been transformational.

“iGP graduates are stepping into critical board roles at Canada’s fastest-growing companies. With Disco, we’re delivering an AI-powered learning experience that enhances collaboration, engagement, and long-term connection among our alumni. And just as iGP is designed for innovation leaders, we’re proud that the platform powering it is a made-in-Canada solution.” For Disco’s CEO, Candice Faktor, this collaboration is about more than just delivering content—it’s about shaping the future of corporate governance in Canada.

“Disco is built to connect, engage, and drive lasting impact,” says Faktor. “We’re thrilled to support CCI with an AI-first platform that makes creating and scaling transformational learning programs easier and more cost-effective. With our intelligent automation, social learning DNA, and modern, frictionless experience, Disco is redefining how organizations build and operate world-class learning programs.”

As demand for skilled board talent grows, iGP and Disco are proving that world-class innovation isn’t just something Canadians study—it’s something we build, together.

The next cohort of the Innovation Governance Program runs from May to June, equipping leaders with the skills to navigate governance in Canada’s innovation economy. Applications are open until March 31. Apply at www.innovationgovernance.ca
