CCI response to the 2022 Québec election

With news outlets declaring that the Coalition Avenir Québec will form a majority government, Pierre-Philippe Lortie, CCI Québec director of government affairs, issued the following statement:

The Council of Canadian Innovators (CCI) congratulates the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) and Premier François Legault on winning a second majority mandate from the voters.

We are eager to continue working with Premier Legault and his ministers to develop policies and programs to make Quebec’s innovation and technology sector stronger. In particular, we will be advocating for a review of Bill 96, adjustments to Quebec R&D tax credits, and promoting more local content in procurement.

Throughout the campaign, we repeatedly heard Premier Legault express his pride in Quebec culture. The best way to ensure that Quebec culture is strong and vibrant is to ensure that we have a thriving and growing economy. CCI Quebec will continue engaging with the Quebec government to advocate for policies that drive prosperity in the 21st century economy.
