Sam Jenkins

Sam Jenkins is an entrepreneur with a strong focus on building the community, with a focus on cultural, economic development, and community services organizations. Sam co-founded Punchcard Systems in 2016, with the vision of transforming how people work using technology. As Managing Partner, Sam helps guide a growing team across Canada, focusing on the purpose of transforming organizations through technology, and on the mission to build 100 technology startups before the year 2030. In 2021, Punchcard was recognized by Canadian Business/Macleans as a Top 100 Fast Growth Startup. Prior to launching Punchcard, Sam was the CEO and co-founder of Wellnext, a software startup focusing on building technology for workplace wellness, insurance, and healthcare. In the community, Sam provides leadership and advisory to several organizations, as vice-chair of the board for the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and the Winspear Centre for Music, as the past chair of the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival, and previously, as co-founder of Startup Edmonton, an entrepreneur-led social enterprise that aims to amplify innovation, active startups, and make Edmonton a hotbed for creativity and entrepreneurship. Currently, Sam is serving as Chair of the Winspear Project Design and Construction Committee, working to complete the original vision for the facility, by adding over 40,000 square feet of creative and incubation space, as well as a modern district energy generation plant, to Edmonton's downtown core.
